John Lennon was in Kent, filming the music video for Strawberry Fields Forever, when he experienced a serendipitous encounter at an antique shop in Sevenoaks. In fact, it was 51 years ago exactly that Lennon came across the old circus poster that inspired the song Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite! This isn’t the only example of Lennon finding inspiration in printed media: Sgt. Pepper, one of the Beatles' most iconic albums, featured the song A Day in the Life, written by John Lennon after a newspaper article captured his imagination.
