Leonardo da Vinci was born on 14 April 1452, in the town of Vinci, Italy. This legendary artist, visionary, and thinker has left a mark on the world that transcends the boundary of time. Da Vinici’s insatiable curiosity and unparalleled creativity drove him to explore many things: he was an artist, inventor, scientist, mathematician, and philosopher.
Although the Mona Lisa is the artist’s best-known work, his creativity went beyond the bounds of his artistic endeavours. His notebooks were filled with sketches, scientific diagrams, and inventions. His technical drawings of the human body were innovative, and his detailed drawings of flying machines were extremely ahead of his time.
Today, we are celebrating Leonardo’s birthday! His legacy reminds us to be inventive, and to dream big. His life is a testament to the beauty that can occur when science and art combine. Da Vinci’s passion for the world around him urged him to try and unlock the mysteries of the universe. This passion inspires us to stay curious, and nurture our own creativity.
