On this day, 48 years ago, John Lennon was taking a look around an antique shop in Kent whilst filming the video for Strawberry Fields Forever. It was here that he found the Victorian circus poster which inspired him to write Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!, a song that showcases Lennon’s ability to turn mundane elements of everyday life into a kind of humdrum orchestra.
