This moment of inspiration sparked a creative phase for Lennon, where he was able to craft meaningful songs from the most mundane objects and ideas. As we know, this method of songwriting is evident in Sgt. Pepper, where Lennon also wrote A Day in the Life by weaving together snippets of news stories.
