On Friday 20 February 1914 Harry Houdini performed at the Empire Theatre in Leeds in an 'All-Star Matinee.' Houdini, born in 1874, became a legendary figure in magic and escapology, astounding audiences with his daring escapes from handcuffs, straitjackets, and locked boxes.
