Published in 1853 by J. Whitbread, a map seller based on Oxford Street, this beautiful reproduction print shows Victorian London from Notting Hill in the West to Stepney in the East and from Kentish Town in the north to Denmark Hill in the South.
The original map was hand-coloured and you can easily see the charming inexactness of the brush strokes!
This is a reproduction of an original poster.

In our Vintage Reproductions collection you’ll find beautiful prints based on originals in the public domain. We have taken high-quality scans or photographs of these and lovingly retouched them to restore some of the splendour of the originals. But we have purposefully left behind the signs of age such as yellowing and other faded colours, wonky lines, creases and fold marks, the worn-out type and even the occasional tear. Some details may not be quite as sharp as the originals, but all the charm is there. And these will look wonderful for years to come too, because they are printed using pigment inks on 100% cotton, acid-free, archival paper.
